A Historic Day for Basotho Heritage - 22 June 2025
Morena e Moholo, Mofumahali Mathokoana, and MaMotebang Mopeli proudly graced the official opening of the Kgodumodumo Interpretation Centre at Golden Gate National Park.
In his address, Morena e Moholo warmly welcomed dignitaries and the broader community, emphasising the Centre’s profound significance. He described it as a living legacy of the Basotho people, a sacred space where history, memory, culture, and science beautifully converge. More than just a building, the Centre is a beacon of identity, an educational hub, and a proud symbol of our nation’s rich heritage.
The event was attended by esteemed guests, including Minister Patricia de Lille, Minister Dion George, Premier Maqueen Letsoha-Mathae, MEC Ketso Makume, MEC Mamikie Maboya, Morena e Moholo Mota, Mayor Connie Msibi, Mayor Tseki Tseki, stakeholders, and members of the community.
The Bakoena Royal Council encourages all community members and visitors to make their way to this monumental Centre.
